Honam Justice Citizens' Coalition: "Yoon Seok-yeol is the Only President Who Upholds Constitutional Values"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam Fair Citizens' Coalition (Executive Director Ko Gwanghee), which includes about 8,500 members from over 30 civic groups in the Gwangju area, has declared its support for Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party candidate.
On the afternoon of the 16th, Honam Fair Citizens' Coalition held a press conference at the Gwangju Metropolitan Council to announce their support for candidate Yoon, stating, "We had high hopes and support for the Moon Jae-in government, which came to power through candlelight protests, but now, after five years in office, all the government has shown us is disappointment and anger."
Executive Director Ko Gwanghee raised his voice, saying, "Why are failures such as the nuclear phase-out policy, real estate, diplomacy and security, job policies, COVID-19 K-quarantine, as well as the increasing burden on future generations due to rising national debt, being concealed? Witnessing such an incompetent administration where principles and fairness have collapsed and accumulating new deep-rooted evils, we cannot help but worry about the country's future."
He continued, "Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung has caused disappointment and anger among the people with countless issues including the Daejang-dong gate, Baekhyeon-dong preferential corruption allegations, lawyer fee payment suspicions, wasteful lawsuits, suspected connections with organized crime, and reckless appointments of his own people."
Kim Jeong-rye, representative of the Small and Medium Business Association, emphasized, "Small business owners and SMEs have decided to support the upright person who calls for a fair Republic of Korea, People Power Party candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. We will put all our efforts into creating a fairer Korea together with candidate Yoon."
Lee Seung-woon, president of the University Student Coalition, also said, "Tired of this government's double standards, I hope candidate Yoon Seok-yeol will build a country where fairness and common sense are fundamental."
Park Young-hee, representative of the Women Voters Association, stated, "Honam must change now and is changing. We must break free from the Democratic Party's one-party dictatorship isolation. We will choose candidate Yoon as the president who will uphold constitutional values."
