At the plaque awarding ceremony held at Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Shin Joon-sik, honorary director and founder of Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, personally received the plaque from Hwang Ki-chul, head of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
This plaque of appreciation was awarded in recognition of Jaseng Medical Foundation's continuous efforts in medical, educational, and housing support projects to assist independence patriots and their descendants. Along with 21 Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospitals and clinics nationwide, the foundation has been providing medical services such as acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine prescriptions by regularly visiting the homes of surviving patriots as part of the 'Korean Medicine Primary Care for Surviving Patriots' agreement signed with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in February last year. On Liberation Day last year, the foundation also launched a 'Korean Medicine Medical Service' support project worth a total of 300 million won for 100 descendants of independence patriots.
Moreover, to support the education of descendants of independence patriots, Jaseng Medical Foundation has signed a 'Scholarship Project for Descendants of Independence Patriots' agreement with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs since 2019, donating scholarships of 1 million won each annually to 100 high school students. In addition, in August last year, the foundation supported housing and household appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners for Song Kyung-hwa, the great-granddaughter of independence patriot Song Jong-bin, helping her to establish a stable life in Korea.
