Busan City Calls for Companies to Participate in 'Private-Hosted Exhibition and International Conference Support Project'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan City is promoting the '2022 Busan Metropolitan City Private-Hosted Exhibition and International Conference Support Project' and is recruiting companies to participate in the project.
The project was implemented to foster Busan's representative exhibitions and enhance the self-sustainability of companies.
The project supports event hosting costs such as rental fees and marketing expenses, expert consulting and performance analysis, and promotion for exhibitions and international conferences hosted by the private sector.
Exhibitions will be supported up to about 8 cases with a maximum of 100 million KRW per case, and international conferences up to about 2 cases with a maximum of 40 million KRW per case.
Starting this year, Busan will reflect the previous year's performance in the evaluation, nurture excellent exhibitions held annually as Busan's representative exhibitions, and exclude institutions with strong public nature from the support targets to preserve the purpose of supporting private-hosted events.
The city plans to re-implement a sunset system that supports each event up to a maximum of 3 to 5 times so that many companies can benefit.
In addition, higher scores will be given to exhibition convention events in Busan that can pursue branding with long-term vision and strategy.
The city plans to enhance the MICE competitiveness of supported companies by supporting ▲pre-briefing sessions ▲post-event expert feedback ▲expanded customized expert consulting ▲practical professional training for employees ▲integration of information and communication technology (ICT).
Companies wishing to participate in the project can submit their applications by email or regular mail by 5 p.m. on the 24th.
For more details, check the announcement on the Busan Metropolitan City website or contact the MICE Industry Division or the Busan Tourism MICE Promotion Association.
Despite the overall economic downturn due to COVID-19, last year's project supported 9 exhibitions in fields such as lifestyle and leisure, eco-friendly, urban regeneration, and culture and arts, and 3 international conferences in wellness, food, and mobility industries, achieving an economic ripple effect of 30.9 billion KRW and employment inducement effect of 297 people.
