[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Wooseok] Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, is reportedly considering making public appearances.
In an interview with Kukmin Ilbo on the 14th, Kim said, "There has been much advice to slowly start public appearances in the fields of culture, arts, and religion, so I am considering (whether to support the election)." She added, "Nothing has been decided yet," and said, "I will discuss it with my husband (candidate Yoon)."
Regarding her current feelings, she said, "I am currently in a state of self-reflection," and "I still have many shortcomings in various ways, so I am reflecting a lot." On the controversy over 'excessive protocol' involving Kim Hye-kyung, spouse of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, she refrained from commenting, saying, "I have nothing to say."
According to multiple media outlets, Kim met privately with Pastor Kim Jang-hwan, chairman of Far East Broadcasting Company, at the Far East Broadcasting Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the same day. She said, "Pastor Kim shared words of wisdom about life," and added, "I meet him regularly to listen to his good words and pray together. I receive much comfort, which gives me an opportunity to reflect on myself."
