‘Thank You’ Busan Gangseo-gu! … Air Busan Receives Plaque of Appreciation for 500 Million KRW Aircraft Property Tax ‘COVID-19 Relief’ Over 2 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Air Busan expresses its gratitude to the current district mayor who helped reduce the property tax on aircraft.
On the morning of the 16th, Air Busan plans to visit Gangseo District Office in Busan to present a plaque of appreciation to Noh Ki-tae, Mayor of Gangseo District, Busan, for his contribution to the amendment of the ordinance related to the reduction of aircraft property tax.
The presentation ceremony will be attended by Air Busan CEO Ahn Byung-seok and employees, conveying their gratitude for the support of the local airline.
Gangseo District and the Gangseo District Council in Busan lowered the aircraft property tax rate through the 'Ordinance Amendment on Property Tax Rate Reduction' in 2020 and 2021 to alleviate the difficulties faced by the air transportation industry, which suffered significant financial losses due to COVID-19.
The ordinance temporarily reduced the aircraft property tax rate from the current 0.3% to 0.15%, considering the COVID-19 situation. Accordingly, Air Busan received a tax reduction of over 500 million KRW over two years.
Air Busan CEO Ahn Byung-seok said, “On behalf of all employees, I sincerely thank the district mayor, all staff at Gangseo District Office, and members of the Gangseo District Council who worked hard for the local airline.”
He also added, “We ask for continued interest and support so that Air Busan can overcome the COVID-19 crisis well and take off vigorously again.”
Noh Ki-tae, Mayor of Gangseo District, said, “I hope that Air Busan, established mainly by Busan merchants, will overcome COVID-19 well and return to normalcy, even if just a little.”
