Gyeonggi Shinbo Selects 'Hanam-si' as an Excellent Contributor Institution for Supporting SMEs and Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an excellent contributing institution supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners.
The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation announced on the 15th that it selected Hanam City as an outstanding city/county for contribution performance last year, recognizing its role as a pillar of the local economy through active efforts to secure contributions to help SMEs and small business owners overcome crises, and presented a plaque of appreciation to Mayor Kim Sang-ho of Hanam.
In response to the difficulties faced by local small business owners and SMEs due to the spread of COVID-19, Hanam City provided special guarantees worth 156.6 billion KRW to a total of 3,838 SMEs and small business owners in the area, based on contributions of 2.4 billion KRW each in 2020 and 2021, totaling 4.8 billion KRW.
Mayor Kim Sang-ho of Hanam said, "Hanam City has actively supported SMEs and small business owners, the lifeblood of the local economy, together with Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, which shares the common goal of revitalizing the local economy," and emphasized, "We will continue to do our best to make Hanam a city good for business and a 'Shining Hanam City' where companies prosper together."
Lee Min-woo, Chairman of Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, promised, "The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation will make greater efforts to support SMEs and small business owners in the province who are struggling due to COVID-19."
