Jin Seungho, President of KIC, Appointed as Financial Cooperation Ambassador
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] Jin Seung-ho, President of Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), has been appointed as Financial Cooperation Ambassador.
The government announced on the 15th that, after deliberation at the Cabinet meeting, President Jin was appointed as Financial Cooperation Ambassador, an ambassadorial title outside of official diplomatic posts. The ambassadorial title outside official posts is a system that grants ambassadorial titles to individuals with expertise and recognition in various fields to utilize in diplomatic activities. The term is one year, and the previous Financial Cooperation Ambassador was Choi Hee-nam, former President of KIC.
President Jin previously served as Director General of the External Economic Bureau and Director General of the International Financial Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and is currently serving as President of Korea Investment Corporation. As an international finance expert, he is expected to engage in activities such as promoting policies related to financial hubs, providing consultation, and attracting foreign financial companies to Korea.

The Financial Services Commission stated, "'Based on the 5th Basic Plan for Financial Hubs,' President Jin will carry out promotional activities to enhance foreign investors' interest in the domestic financial market and attract foreign financial companies to Korea," expressing their expectations.
