The People Power Party immediately called on candidate Lee and the Democratic Party to apologize.
Cha Seunghoon, the full-time deputy spokesperson of the People Power Party's election headquarters, issued a statement on the 14th saying, "Candidate Lee should immediately apologize to candidate Yoon and the public and dismiss the person involved," adding, "Candidate Lee has made an absurd claim that the Shincheonji raid was based on advice from a shaman. Now it is clear why such unreasonable claims are made. Since shamanism has become a daily routine for candidate Lee's side, such natural imaginations are entirely possible."
On the same day, Lee Jun-seok, the party leader, also wrote on Facebook, "It is now clear which election committee relies on sorcery," pointing out, "And it is a curse ritual."
Nam Mo, who serves as the standing chairman of the Democratic Party's Bright Future Committee's 'Setting the Republic of Korea Straight' division, had previously revealed the process of performing a 'curse ritual' against candidate Yoon on his Facebook page.

Nam also posted photos showing a piece of paper labeled "Yunjjeokbeol" attached to the straw doll's face and pictures of the doll being stabbed with sharp tools.
On the 4th, he posted a photo of a certificate of appointment, which appeared to have been issued by candidate Lee, stating, "I, who am lacking, have been appointed as the standing chairman of the Bright Future Committee's 'Setting the Republic of Korea Straight' division."
He also expressed his determination, saying, "In the new Republic of Korea, I will devote the rest of my life to setting the tilted Republic of Korea straight," and "I await the participation of comrades. Just as the Joseon navy, determined to die, followed Admiral Yi Sun-sin and protected Joseon from the Japanese pirates, I will do the same."
Meanwhile, amid growing controversy, Nam wrote on Facebook on the 14th, "A few days ago, while intoxicated, I lost control of my emotions and poured excessive curses on candidate Yoon. It was an inappropriate action," and "I sincerely apologize once again to everyone hurt by my disgraceful behavior."
