According to the county on the 14th, the elderly resident living in the house was spending the cold winter alone in a dilapidated and broken home. At the request of nearby residents, the mobile unit and the county rolled up their sleeves to help.
Recognizing this difficult situation, the welfare mobile unit members and Muan-gun officials visited the elderly person's home to check on their well-being and carried out volunteer activities to improve the poor living conditions, making the elderly person's living space more comfortable.
The elderly resident said, "Every time I saw the broken house, I felt it was dangerous and unsightly, and I really wanted to clean it up, but since I couldn't handle it alone, I was just pacing around. I am very grateful for such great help."
Suh Bok-hyun, captain of the Muan-gun Welfare Mobile Unit, said, "I am happy and proud to be able to help elderly people in difficulty," adding, "We will continue to look after neighbors in need and work hard in volunteer service."
Oh Jeong-mi, head of the Muan-gun Social Welfare Division, expressed gratitude, saying, "We thank the Muan-gun Welfare Mobile Unit members who actively discovered crisis households in welfare blind spots and lent their hands and hearts," and pledged, "We hope our neighborhood welfare mobile unit will continue to take the lead in resolving welfare blind spots, and our county will make further efforts to provide practical welfare services."
Meanwhile, the Muan-gun Welfare Mobile Unit, consisting of six members, was formed in 2019 to help marginalized groups in the area. Recently, they also visited health center staff who have been devotedly working on the front lines amid the surge in COVID-19 cases to encourage them and deliver snacks.
