[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of SMEs held a policy vision presentation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, on the 14th at the Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul.
About 100 people attended the event, including Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Federation of SMEs, association heads, representatives of SMEs and small business owners, venture and startup representatives, and youth preparing for employment.
Candidate Yoon presented his SME policy vision under the theme of "Dynamic Innovative Growth and a New Leap for SMEs" and listened to on-site stories.
At the site, key issues were raised, including △ strengthening digital capabilities of SMEs △ restarting the Kaesong Industrial Complex to revitalize inter-Korean economic cooperation △ supplementing the Serious Accident Punishment Act △ supporting the activation of women-owned businesses.
Chairman Kim emphasized, "The next government must place SMEs at the center of economic policy and enable the exercise of entrepreneurial spirit."

He added, "To solve the polarization problem, a 'Presidential Commission for Win-Win Cooperation' should be established, and the voices of the SME sector must be actively collected from the transition committee stage so that SME issues can be reflected in national policy agendas."
