On the 13th, Candidate Yoon unveiled these 10 key pledges.
The top priority pledge is the 'Emergency COVID-19 Recovery and Post-COVID-19 Plan.' The goal is to compensate small business owners who closed due to losses during quarantine measures and to eliminate blind spots in loss compensation. Additionally, free psychological counseling and digital therapeutics will be provided to support the physical and mental health recovery of small business owners and self-employed individuals.
To this end, laws will be enacted and amended to operate the emergency recovery program, and a presidential office-affiliated 'COVID-19 Emergency Recovery Special Headquarters' will be established immediately upon inauguration.
Focus will also be placed on creating sustainable good jobs. By shifting the job creation paradigm, promoting private-sector-led job creation through corporate growth, creating social service jobs, and ensuring stable job transitions, a virtuous cycle structure of growth, welfare, and jobs will be established, fostering a job creation ecosystem.
Specifically, regulatory innovation will be activated through a dedicated regulatory reform organization to stimulate corporate investment, an employment-friendly environment will be created to establish a foundation for quality job creation, and startup and innovative ventures will be supported dramatically.
To meet demand, more than 2.5 million housing units will be supplied nationwide. The target includes 500,000 units in Seoul and between 1.3 million to 1.5 million units in the metropolitan area. Upon the new government's launch, a housing supply roadmap will be established, and necessary legal amendments for institutional improvements will be actively pursued to normalize the market.
Reform of the Presidential Office will also be undertaken. The existing Blue House will be dismantled to eliminate remnants of the imperial presidential system. In particular, the Presidential Office will be relocated to the Government Seoul Office Building, and the former Blue House site will be repurposed based on public and expert opinions.
