"I've Always Wanted to Try This"… The Identity of the 'Naked Man Wearing Only a Mask' Is a 30-Year-Old Office Worker
Wandering Naked for About 1 Minute
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A man in his 30s who was walking around the streets in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, wearing only a mask and nothing else, was caught by the police.
On the 11th, the Siheung Police Station announced that they had booked Mr. A (36) without detention on charges of public obscenity and are currently investigating him.
Mr. A is suspected of wandering naked for about one minute around a construction site in Sincheon-dong, Siheung City, around midnight on the 4th. At that time, he drove to the construction site, parked nearby, and then walked around the surrounding streets wearing only a black mask and nothing else. Afterwards, he drove away from the scene still naked.
The police received a report from an employee at the construction site stating, "A man was recorded on closed-circuit television (CCTV) wandering naked."
The police began tracking and identified Mr. A three days after the incident, on the 7th. After being contacted by the police, Mr. A voluntarily appeared at the police station on the 9th and underwent questioning.
Mr. A, an office worker living in Seoul, reportedly stated during the investigation that "he wanted to try this kind of behavior once."
However, the reason why Mr. A, who resides in Seoul, came to Siheung to commit the act has not yet been determined.
The police explained, "Even if no victim report has been filed regarding Mr. A’s act, the act of walking around naked itself constitutes the crime of public obscenity."
Meanwhile, a similar incident was reported near the site last month. At that time, the police booked a teenage boy, Mr. A, without detention on charges of public obscenity.
