Seungro Lee, Seongbuk-gu Mayor, to Hold 'Seungro Lee's Field' Book Launch on the 12th
[Seoul District News] On the 12th, the commemorative event at Korea University Anam Campus Alumni Hall will proceed as an author signing event without a separate ceremony due to COVID-19... Seongbuk-gu continues valuable achievements in supporting low-income self-sufficiency projects
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, has published "Lee Seung-ro's Field" (Baeksan Publishing), which contains the achievements and reflections of the past four years of tirelessly working to find answers in the lives of residents since his inauguration in the 7th local election, and will hold a signing event.
The commemorative event, held on the 12th at the Korea University Anam Campus Alumni Hall (13 Jongam-ro, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul), will be conducted as an author signing session without a separate ceremony in consideration of the COVID-19 situation.
"Lee Seung-ro's Field" contains the local autonomy field experience accumulated by Mayor Lee through his service as a basic council member, metropolitan council member, and district mayor. The title "Lee Seung-ro's Field" was personally chosen by Mayor Lee to reflect his original intention of people-centered, field-centered administration promised at the time of his inauguration.
Born in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk, Mayor Lee graduated from Korea University Graduate School of Policy. He served as the 2nd and 3rd Seongbuk-gu council member (independent) and the 9th Seoul Metropolitan Council member (Democratic Party), working hard for the development of Seongbuk-gu.
After taking office as the 7th elected mayor of Seongbuk-gu in July 2018, he carried the district administration slogan "Seongbuk's Future, Finding Answers in the Field" and roamed every alley of the 20 neighborhoods. Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, he has been operating an online field mayor's office since last year, dedicating efforts to solving local issues. For this reason, he earned the nickname "the mayor with the largest field office in Korea."
Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, "I published this book to share the journey and achievements of livelihood politics and field politics, where we discuss problems with residents on-site and find the second-best solutions even if they are not the best."
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is achieving valuable results through its self-support work project aimed at helping low-income residents become self-reliant.
Through the support of self-support and entrepreneurship by the Seongbuk Regional Self-Support Center, five self-support enterprises in four industries (cleaning, sewing, coffee, bicycle sales, etc.) have been established and are actively operating.
"Malgeunnarae" held a plaque ceremony on the 9th in Jeongneung-dong (35 Jeongneung-ro 38na-gil). Malgeunnarae is a specialized company in daily management and large-scale cleaning of schools and buildings. Over the past three years, it has acquired professional cleaning skills through the cleaning business team of the Seongbuk Regional Self-Support Center's self-support work project and strengthened its entrepreneurial will. Since 2021, it has been preparing for full-scale entrepreneurship and was established in February 2022 in Jeongneung-dong, Seongbuk-gu, with one representative (Jo Seong-bong) and two members.
Representative Jo Seong-bong expressed his ambition, saying, "Although it is a small company, we will gradually increase the number of personnel and become a self-support enterprise that contributes to society based on responsibility, transparency, and reliability."
