Son Dong-Young, Head of Strategic Planning at Seoul Economic Daily, Appointed Chairman of Newspaper Association Policy Council
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Policy Council under the Korea Newspaper Association held its regular general meeting on the 10th and announced the appointment of Son Dong-young, Head of Strategic Planning at Seoul Economic Daily (pictured), as the new chairman. His term will last until the 2023 regular general meeting.
In his greeting, Chairman Son said, "Newspapers are filled with the most trustworthy information in our society," adding, "I will actively cooperate with member companies and seek the best countermeasures to ensure that newspaper content is loved not only in print newspapers but also across all digital platforms."
On the same day, the Policy Council also appointed six vice chairmen, including Kim Jung-wook, Director of Maeil Business Newspaper. Fifteen directors, including Choi Byung-joon, Head of Strategic Planning at Kyunghyang Newspaper, and auditor Song Han-soo, Head of Management Planning at Seoul Newspaper, were also elected.

The Policy Council is an organization of executives and heads of management planning departments affiliated with member companies of the Newspaper Association. It was founded on August 27, 1997, and currently includes 24 major newspapers and news agencies nationwide.
