The district announced on the 10th that it has established and will implement a "Local Self-Sufficiency Support Promotion Plan" with these objectives.
The district has allocated a budget of 7.833 billion KRW, about 12% more than last year, and plans to carry out 38 detailed projects targeting 3,254 people.
First, the district’s direct self-sufficiency work projects are divided into helper types (welfare helpers, social welfare facility helpers) and work maintenance types (meal helpers, public facility management assistants), providing jobs to 50 people in each category.
Private consigned self-sufficiency work is operated by Namdong Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, Mansu Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Manwol Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, divided into market entry type, social service type, and self-sufficiency enterprises, with 214 participants expected across 18 projects.
Additionally, the district will promote asset-building support for work inducement and independence, employment linkage for working poor, employment stability support, and operation of self-sufficiency funds to revitalize self-sufficiency projects.
Last year, the district established a reusable container cleaning project team (Eco Dish Care) and promoted a pilot use of reusable containers to strengthen the self-sufficiency infrastructure.
Also, to activate the side dish project team newly opened in December 2020, the district collaborated with the visiting welfare team of the Dong Administrative Welfare Center to carry out side dish delivery services for elderly living alone.
