Yeosu-si Selected as an Excellent Institution in the '2021 Local Government Innovation Evaluation'
The Only City-Level Unit in the Province... Receives Special Grant Tax Financial Incentive
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 10th that it was selected as an excellent basic local government in the ‘2021 Local Government Innovation Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
It was the only city-level local government selected in Jeollanam-do and will receive a ‘special grant financial incentive.’
The Local Government Innovation Evaluation is conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, evaluating innovation efforts and achievements of 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan and 226 basic local governments) to select excellent institutions.
For this evaluation, the “Local Government Innovation Evaluation Group” composed of private experts and the “Citizen Evaluation Group” recruited from the general public participated to ensure a fair and objective assessment.
Evaluation was conducted based on five categories and 14 detailed indicators: ▲Institutional autonomous innovation ▲Inclusive administration ▲Participation and cooperation ▲Trustworthy government ▲Innovation diffusion and public perception.
Yeosu City received high evaluations for ▲support projects related to the Yeosu-Suncheon Incident and urging the enactment of a special law ▲expansion of the Happy Sharing Refrigerator program ▲establishment of the Yeosu-type, Seomseom Yeosu health and welfare platform ▲customized policies for digitally marginalized groups ▲operation of public night pharmacies in Yeosu City.
