Support of 230.7 Billion KRW for 69 Agricultural Projects
Expansion of Smart Agriculture Infrastructure and Establishment of Agricultural Product Price Forecasting System
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province has announced five core strategies for smart and self-reliant agricultural administration and will invest 837 billion KRW in 328 individual projects this year.
The province will first support 230.7 billion KRW for 69 individual projects aimed at 'customized agricultural and rural structural improvement and vitality enhancement.'
It will assist young and successor farmers (383 people) in settling into farming and provide an annual agricultural allowance of 700,000 KRW per household to 80,757 agricultural management entities to help stabilize farmers' and fishermen's management.
Additionally, through customized support for rural hub revitalization (15 billion KRW over 5 years) and Rural New Vitality Plus (7 billion KRW over 4 years), the province will promote tourism infrastructure and convergence industries, as well as establish an agricultural product price forecasting system.
For 'innovation growth and management advancement such as livestock industry restructuring,' 50.4 billion KRW will be invested in 54 individual projects.
Efforts will be made to transition to environmentally friendly livestock farming by expanding carbon neutrality and utilizing indigenous resources (12 projects, 10 billion KRW), and by efficiently treating livestock manure and systematically managing odor reduction (9 projects, 9.9 billion KRW).
For 'activation of agricultural product supply and distribution,' 168.6 billion KRW will be supported across 75 individual projects to stabilize agricultural product supply (21.6 billion KRW) and expand production area distribution infrastructure (9.2 billion KRW), as well as strengthen agricultural and food manufacturing and processing infrastructure (2.9 billion KRW) and agricultural product safety.
Furthermore, support will be provided as a package for facility horticulture infrastructure expansion (16.8 billion KRW) and soil restoration for highland farming (3 projects, 2.9 billion KRW), and untact consumption support networks will be expanded through strengthened online and offline marketing (10.6 billion KRW).
For 'sustainable eco-friendly agriculture development,' 337.2 billion KRW will be invested in 70 individual projects to expand the supply base of healthy local food, including support for maternity packages (2,694 people) linked with wide-area eco-friendly production organizations (16 corporations participating).
Support will be provided for appropriate production of high-quality rice, development of the miscellaneous grains industry, and public interest direct payments (70,000 households, 133.9 billion KRW) to ensure stable labor supply during the farming season (180,000 people). Additionally, 50 billion KRW will be supported for 60 individual projects in the field of animal welfare.
