On the 10th, Busan City will sign a business agreement with Kakao Enterprise, a leading domestic IT platform company, at Busan City Hall regarding the opening of a Cloud Innovation Center and support for the digital transformation of local companies.
The signing ceremony will be attended by Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, and Jung Moon-seop, Director of the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency.
The business agreement aims to create a digital innovation ecosystem. Kakao Enterprise will operate programs based on the Busan Cloud Innovation Center for digital transformation projects for regional industrial development, support for small startups, and fostering local talent. Busan City and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency will be responsible for supporting the operation of the Cloud Innovation Center and related programs.
The agreement will establish a foundation for the growth of local startups and prospective entrepreneurs and the cultivation of talent.
Busan City stated, "Through mutual cooperation to accelerate the digital transformation of traditional local industries, we expect to lead the development of Busan's digital economy and industry."
Kakao Enterprise's Busan Cloud Innovation Center is scheduled to open in April at Dongseo University Centum Campus and plans to operate ▲ membership programs for local companies and startups including digital transformation consulting, commercialization support, and free credit support for cloud service usage ▲ regular cloud education, mentoring for enrolled students, experiential internships ▲ cloud service development and transformation support programs.
Kakao Enterprise, a subsidiary of the Kakao Group established in 2019, is a B2B IT company providing comprehensive information and communication (IT) innovation services based on cloud and artificial intelligence platforms, including Kakao Work and chatbots.
Jung Moon-seop, Director of the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency, said, "We will actively cooperate to nurture local cloud companies and promote digital transformation through the establishment of the Kakao Enterprise Cloud Innovation Center and the discovery of cooperative projects."
Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, said, "By collaborating with Busan City, which leads the ICT industry development, we will further enhance the capabilities of both organizations and grow together with companies in the Busan region that have various industrial infrastructures."
