The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it will hold the 'Korea-US Semiconductor Partnership Investment Briefing' from the 10th to the 11th to promote semiconductor investment between Korea and the US. This briefing is a follow-up measure to the '1st Korea-US Semiconductor Partnership Dialogue' held last December. It is hosted by KOTRA and the US investment promotion agency SelectUSA, with cooperation from the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), and the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI).
About 30 domestic and foreign materials and equipment companies hoping to enter the Korean and US semiconductor markets attended this investment briefing. On the first day of the briefing, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will introduce the status of foreign investment in the US semiconductor sector and support measures. The Texas and California regions, which are of high interest to domestic companies, will have their state governments directly participate in the briefing to introduce investment procedures and incentive systems. On the second day, KOTRA and the Semiconductor Industry Association plan to explain the status of the domestic semiconductor industry and investment procedures to participating companies. After the briefing, the ministry will also arrange one-on-one meetings with SelectUSA for interested companies.
The ministry expects that semiconductor cooperation and related investments between Korea and the US will accelerate through this investment briefing. The semiconductor cooperation atmosphere created around the Korea-US summit in May last year also contributed to this outlook.
