Japan's Daily COVID-19 Cases Near 100,000
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] Japan's daily new COVID-19 cases have approached 100,000.
On the 9th, public broadcaster NHK reported that as of 6:30 PM, the daily new cases reached 97,833. The number of deaths was 162, marking the highest figure for two consecutive days following the previous day's 159.
The Japanese government decided on the 9th to extend the emergency COVID-19 measures in 13 metropolitan areas, including Tokyo, for three more weeks.
