Pasu and Sparrow Selected as Youth-Friendly Small Giants
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] FASOO and its subsidiary Sparrow have been selected as ‘2022 Youth-Friendly Small Giants’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor has been selecting Youth-Friendly Small Giants since 2016 to improve awareness of small and medium enterprises and encourage employment in good SME jobs. Key indicators for youth jobs such as wages, work-life balance, and employment stability are evaluated in each category.
FASOO has been selected as a Youth-Friendly Small Giant multiple times. Sparrow was selected immediately after meeting the eligibility requirement of being established for at least 3 years.
FASOO and Sparrow create youth employment through annual open recruitment and occasional hiring. They also operate various internship programs linked to recruitment, including domestic and international opportunities. The industry shows relatively high proportions of young and female employees, as well as longer average tenure.
Since commercializing the world’s first DRM (Digital Rights Management) technology, FASOO has maintained the number one domestic market share in this field for the past 20 years and leads the global data security market. FASOO’s subsidiary Sparrow is the number one company in the domestic static analysis tool (SAST) market, providing a security environment covering the entire software development lifecycle, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, open source management, and interactive platforms.
Jang Ilsu, CEO of Sparrow, said, "Since our founding, the proportion of female employees has increased more than threefold," adding, "With a relatively young average employee age, we are establishing a culture where employees can work autonomously in a comfortable and free atmosphere." He also stated, "We will continue to develop as a youth-friendly small giant."
