Seoul City Council Member Noh Sik-rae (Democratic Party, Yongsan 2) to Hold Book Launch Event on the 12th from 1 PM to 5 PM at Yongsan Dream Tree Complex, Former Yongsan District Office Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seoul Metropolitan Council member Noh Sik-rae (Democratic Party, Yongsan 2) will hold a book launch event on the 12th from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Yongsan Dream Tree Complex, located at the former Yongsan District Office site.
Council member Noh Sik-rae's book, "K-City: Let's Create the Future of Yongsan", contains discussions on the present and future of Seoul and Yongsan as seen through the eyes of a Seoul council member originally from Yongsan during his legislative activities.
It also covers stories of politicians he met and learned from while serving as a party official since starting as a Democratic Party public recruitment first generation member, including Presidents Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in, whom he assisted closely.
The book includes vivid accounts from the 20th general election, such as the Democratic Party's talent recruitment that became a hot topic in 2016 and related concerts.
Although he participated in numerous elections as a party official, the frustrations he experienced during his own election campaign, encounters with bus conductors and laborers during his university years at night school, and his unique experiences at his first workplace, Holt Children's Welfare Association, are also featured.
Council member Noh Sik-rae expressed, “If I could go back to being young again, I would want to start politics at an earlier age,” and added, “I hope this book serves as a meaningful reference for young people who find politics daunting.”
