On the same day, the candidate held a policy briefing under the theme "Promise of a Great Transformation in Gwangju Education" at the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education briefing room and stated, "The Gwangju Student Safety Education Center will oversee, manage, and take responsibility for school safety projects operated by each department, including facilities, health, meals, and school violence prevention."
He added, "We will operate a school safety accident prevention inspection team to conduct a full safety diagnosis survey of all schools in the Gwangju area every year."
He also emphasized, "The school safety accident prevention inspection team will include external professional organizations to conduct expert safety inspections and diagnoses to eliminate potential risks in advance, striving to create a safe school environment where students, parents, and teachers can live with peace of mind."
He mentioned the use of 100% eco-friendly building materials with zero harmful substances during facility construction processes.
He also pledged to ensure food safety for children by securing 70% eco-friendly ingredients for school meals, stating, "We will provide customized menus suitable for vegetarian and multicultural students to guarantee diverse meal rights for students."
Furthermore, he said, "We will protect our children from the dangers of school violence and bullying by operating the With Friends program," and emphasized, "In addition to support for school violence, we will expand counseling and treatment support for at-risk and maladjusted students and actively support strengthening teachers' counseling and communication capabilities."
