CU Provides Lifelong Learning to Franchise Owners and Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CU is conducting recruitment for new and transfer students at Sejong Cyber University for CU franchise owners and staff until the 15th.
This recruitment is part of the lifelong education support system for franchise owners and staff, established under the "Business Agreement for Professional Workforce Development and Capacity Enhancement" signed between BGF Retail and Sejong Cyber University in January last year.
When a CU franchise owner enrolls at Sejong Cyber University, they receive full exemption from the admission fee and a 50% discount on regular semester tuition fees. Family members of the franchise owner (spouse and direct relatives) can receive a 30% tuition discount.
If enrolling in the graduate school of Sejong Cyber University, both the franchise owner and their family members receive a 30% tuition reduction benefit until graduation.
BGF Retail is the only company in the industry to offer such discount benefits to staff as well. Staff working at CU nationwide can receive exemption from admission fees and a 30% tuition discount at Sejong Cyber University and its graduate school by submitting a recommendation letter from the franchise owner and a certificate of employment.
The available departments for admission include 34 fields such as Food Service Franchise Management, Culinary Service Management, which help with convenience store operations, as well as Child Studies, Social Welfare, YouTuber Studies, and Drone Studies.
All classes are conducted via mobile and online to allow balancing store work and studies, and early graduation is possible depending on earned credits. Depending on the department, students can also obtain national or private certifications after completion.
CU partnered with Sejong Cyber University to support self-development for franchise owners and staff amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of non-face-to-face education.
