They will be distributed to each education support office and schools at all levels to establish a systematic system to prevent school violence and support the field.
The "2022 Field-Centered School Violence Prevention Guidebook" is a resource supplemented to fit local conditions based on the comprehensive measures of the Ministry of Education, centered on the school violence eradication TF team formed since June last year. It is designed for use in school settings, including school violence prevention programs, various support materials, and guidance on operating the Eoullim program.
To share and spread excellent cases, operation reports from Acheon Elementary School and Dasan Middle School, which won the Minister of Education Award for the 2021 Eoullim Program, are introduced, and a monthly guide is presented to improve the efficiency of school violence prevention-related work. It expands student-led prevention activities and provides measures for early detection and rapid response to school violence.
Also, the "2022 School Violence Incident Handling Guide" was revised and supplemented to suit the characteristics and situations of Gyeongbuk based on the guidebook provided by the Ministry of Education. It was created as a detailed manual reflecting changed systems and amended laws to prevent confusion in the incident handling process at education support offices and school sites.
It specifically presents preemptive activities and responses according to the School Violence Prevention Act, general concepts and types of school violence, procedures according to the incident handling flowchart, the principal’s self-resolution system, handling of sexual violence cases, decisions and implementation by the review committee, and appeal procedures.
Joo Won-young, Director of Student Life Division, said, “Since ‘prevention’ and ‘incident handling’ are important in school violence, the guidebook for school violence prevention and the incident handling guide are of great significance to support the school field.”
