President Moon: "Beijing Winter Olympics to Be a Festival of Peace and Harmony"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 4th, President Moon Jae-in encouraged the athletes participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics through social networking services (SNS) and expressed his hope that the Beijing Olympics would become a "festival of peace and harmony" like Pyeongchang.
President Moon said, "I expect all of our national team members, who have prepared for the competition despite various difficulties, to create a wonderful and beautiful time," and added, "Our people will remember the sweat each athlete has shed and will give wholehearted support to each individual's challenge."
He continued, "In 2018, at Pyeongchang, we created a stage of peace and human harmony with united strength. We witnessed the amazing miracle created by sports," and added, "I hope the Beijing Winter Olympics will also be a festival of peace and harmony through sports."
