Bucheon-si Provides Subsidies for Maintenance of Abandoned Empty Houses... Up to 20 Million Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi announced on the 4th that it will support demolition costs for owners of vacant houses to improve urban aesthetics and address crime concerns.
The city will provide project funds for vacant houses rated 3rd and 4th grade that require safety measures and demolition, actively promoting the vacant house maintenance project to encourage voluntary maintenance by owners and public use.
This year, a budget of 64 million KRW, including 30% provincial funds, will be invested to sequentially renovate six vacant houses.
The support amount varies by project type, with up to 10 million KRW provided for demolition of vacant houses, and up to 20 million KRW if the property is offered for public use for three years after demolition. Safety measures such as fence installation will be supported up to 6 million KRW.

Applications for project fund support will be accepted from the 7th of this month until the 31st of next month, and final recipients will be decided through review by the Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee.
