PHC Begins Exporting COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits to Qatar
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] PHC (CEO Choi Inhwan) announced on the 4th that it has obtained emergency use authorization for a saliva antigen diagnostic kit home-use kit from the Qatar Ministry of Public Health through its affiliate Philosys (CEO Lee In).
PHC began shipping COVID-19 rapid diagnostic kits to Qatar on the 4th immediately after obtaining the approval, and the shipped quantities are expected to be used in pharmacies and schools within Qatar.
The COVID-19 rapid diagnostic kit registered in Qatar is the first saliva-based self-diagnostic kit in the country. It is easy to use and has the advantage of high utility as it allows reading and transmission via an app.
PHC also received approval for the first saliva home kit in Malaysia last July.
A company official stated, "The convenience and superior performance of our products are continuously recognized overseas, including the recent approval registration in Qatar," adding, "We will do our best to complete additional registrations in Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as soon as possible, using Qatar as a foothold."
