Applications open until the 16th... Partial wage support for 1 to 50 newly hired employees per company
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 3rd that it will open a public recruitment for companies to participate in the Social Enterprise Job Creation Support Project.
The project was promoted to foster social enterprises suited to regional characteristics, create jobs for vulnerable groups, and expand social service networks.
The support scale is at least one and up to 50 employees per company. The support amount per person is based on this year’s minimum wage and the minimum social insurance rate within the scope of daily 8 hours and weekly 40 hours according to Article 50 of the Labor Standards Act, applied according to the working hours agreed upon by the employer and employee, and the support ratio by type of social enterprise.
In addition, to create jobs for vulnerable groups, workers from vulnerable groups receive an additional 20% support on top of the general worker support rate.
Applications will be accepted online through the Social Enterprise Integrated Information System until the 16th, and after document review, on-site inspection, and expert review committee evaluation, the final selection will be made at the end of March.
Gwangju City will hold two briefing sessions on the 8th and 10th at the Social Cooperative Sallim Education Room, a social enterprise support institution, to provide guidance on application qualifications, required documents, and how to apply using the Social Enterprise Integrated Information System.
Companies wishing to participate in the briefing and recruitment can refer to the (Preliminary) Social Enterprise Job Creation Support Project announcement on the city’s website.
Park Jeonghwan, Director of the City’s Job Economy Office, said, “Through the social enterprise financial support project, we will actively support social enterprises to strengthen their self-sustainability and realize social value so that they can fulfill their purpose and grow.”

As of the end of last year, there are 224 social enterprises in Gwangju, and the number of companies is increasing every year.
