According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, at around 1:20 p.m. on the 30th, a woman in her 50s, Ms. A, jumped onto the tracks upon seeing a train approaching at the Gyodae Station boarding area in Yeonje-gu.
Ms. A died at the scene, and train operations in both directions were suspended.
The train, the Saemaeul ITX heading from Bujeon to Gijang, resumed operation at around 2:50 p.m. after the accident was cleared.
The police stated, "We are investigating the exact cause of why the woman jumped."
