Newly appointed Artistic Director Kim Geon-pyo is a theater and culture expert who successfully led the festival as the chairman of the organizing committee and chief artistic director of the '2020 Miryang Performing Arts Festival.'
He has served as the head of planning at the university and engages in comprehensive writing through theater criticism and various media. He also served as the executive director of the Daegu Musical Festival and the chief artistic director of the Daegu World Athletics Championships Citizens' Eve Festival.
Professor Kim currently serves as the head of the Department of Theater and Film and the Department of Performing Arts. He has published theater criticism collections such as Reading Contemporary Theater, Mr. Mangkkongi, Peeping into the World of Acting, and The World of Theater and Acting.
