30 COVID-19 Cases at Nonsan Training Center
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] The number of trainees at the Nonsan Army Training Center who tested positive for COVID-19 has significantly increased.
On the 25th, the Ministry of National Defense announced that 78 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed within the military. Among the 78 new cases, 30 were trainees at the Army Training Center located in Nonsan, Chungnam, who were confirmed positive after being isolated following about 10 cases reported on the 21st. The remaining cases were sporadically reported from other Army units, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, and Ministry of National Defense direct units.

Of the 78 cases, 67 were breakthrough infections confirmed more than two weeks after completing vaccination. With this, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the military has reached 4,020, of which 2,165 cases, accounting for 53.9%, are breakthrough infections.
