Applications for Resident Companies Open Until February 16, Move-in Starting March
Developing 'Pacific Valley' by Discovering and Nurturing Venture Companies Utilizing Top Science and Technology Infrastructure
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] POSCO announced that it will recruit companies to move into the Gwangyang Creative Economy Innovation Center from January 24 to February 16, targeting startups within 7 years of establishment or prospective entrepreneurs.
The Gwangyang Creative Economy Innovation Center is a venture startup space supported by POSCO for startups in research and development, investment, and more. Based on the nation's top science and technology infrastructure, it plans to discover and nurture excellent companies and talents, aiming to develop it into another "Pacific Valley" located on the Pacific coast alongside Silicon Valley.
The office space is located on the first floor of the Gwangyang Creative Economy Innovation Center building. There are five office spaces of approximately 14㎡ each, including office furniture such as desks and chairs. Various rest areas where meetings or breaks can be taken in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as a video conference room that supports online investment, education, and R&D support, are also prepared.
The residency period is up to 5 years, with extension decisions made based on annual evaluations, and the rent is free.
Once residency is confirmed, companies can receive various material, systemic, and human support from POSCO, making it even more meaningful.
POSCO provides resident companies with an excellent startup incubation system, as well as "smart infrastructure," accelerating programs, cooperation programs with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and local governments nationwide, and "incubation programs" such as startup support programs.
In particular, SSP is a practical support program that enables resident companies to leap into global ventures through four thematic areas?△startup incubation △market support △investment linkage △network?leveraging the excellent industry-academia-research infrastructure of POSCO, POSTECH, and RIST.
A POSCO official stated, "The evaluation of companies wishing to move in will be conducted based on criteria such as entrepreneur capability, technological feasibility, business viability, and suitability for residency, and the final selection results will be announced in early March."
