Muju-gun Awards Honorary Citizen Certificates to Six Members of Seoul Gwangjin-gu Council
Contributing to Regional Mutual Growth Including the Establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju County announced on the 20th that it awarded honorary citizenship certificates to the members of the Gwangjin District Council in Seoul.
This honorary citizenship award was given in recognition of their contributions to the mutual development between the two regions, including the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy and the promotion of Muju County's agricultural and specialty products.
The six council members who received the honorary citizenship certificates are Goyang-seok, Park Sam-rye, Park Soon-bok, An Moon-hwan, Lee Myung-ok, and Jeon Eun-hye.
The council members have taken the lead in enhancing Muju County's image and promoting regional mutual development by organizing direct transaction markets to promote excellent agricultural products from Muju, initiating signature campaigns for the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy, serving as Muju County ambassadors within the region, and conducting volunteer activities for farms facing labor shortages in Muju County.
County Governor Hwang In-hong expressed his gratitude, saying, "Despite your busy legislative activities for the development of Seoul and Gwangjin District, I sincerely thank you for actively working to promote the clean environment of Muju and improve the image of Muju County," and requested, "Let us continue to develop exchange activities for mutual development between the two regions."
The six council members who received the honorary citizenship certificates promised, "Through the sisterhood relationship between Gwangjin District and Muju County Councils, we have taken the lead in interregional exchange activities, contributing to the development of local autonomy and creating a model case of urban-rural coexistence, raising the dignity of both councils and local governments to a higher level," and pledged, "We will spare no support and cooperation to ensure that Muju County's pending projects, such as the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy, are successfully completed."
Prior to this, Muju County Council and Seoul Gwangjin District Council signed a 'sisterhood' agreement in October 2019, opening the way for exchanges between Muju County and Gwangjin District by promising substantial exchanges across all fields, including legislative and regional economic revitalization.
Meanwhile, Muju County and the Muju-Gwangjin District Councils plan to develop their relationship beyond a simple council-level partnership into a mutually supportive relationship through broad exchanges in various fields.
