Fire in Multifamily Housing in Jungnang-gu... 1 Resident Dead, 1 Injured
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A fire broke out in a multi-family house in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, resulting in one resident's death and another's injury.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 16th, the fire occurred around 10:40 PM the previous day on the first floor of a multi-family house in Sangbong-dong, Jungnang-gu. A man in his 70s living in the unit was transported to the hospital but eventually passed away, and a woman living in the same house was also taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke. The woman is reported to be conscious.
The fire department deployed 59 personnel and 18 pieces of equipment, completely extinguishing the fire around 11:36 PM, about an hour later. So far, there is no indication of arson.
