Gangnam-gu Segok Health Center to Open on the 17th
Nation's First AI-Based Smart Exercise Room, Chronic Disease Management Room, and Community Participation Health Management Project Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will open ‘Segok Health Center,’ the first public health branch in Gangnam-gu, on the 17th.
It plans to provide ‘community-based public health services’ focused on chronic disease prevention and management, AI-based rehabilitation programs, and resident participation projects.
Located on the 2nd floor of Jagok Culture Center, Segok Health Center is equipped with a chronic disease management room, smart exercise room, video education room, and multipurpose education room, staffed by professionals including doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise prescription specialists.
In the chronic disease management room, tests and nutrition and exercise consultations for the prevention and management of hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are conducted. The smart exercise room offers the nation’s first AI and big data-based customized exercise programs. When residents with disabilities or chronic diseases tag their RFID cards containing personal information, exercise intensity adjustment and real-time heart rate monitoring are possible. The multipurpose education room and video education room are also available for both face-to-face and non-face-to-face situations.
Additionally, a Resident Health Committee will be formed to encourage active participation from residents and promote resident-participatory health management projects that reflect local characteristics and needs.
All screenings and consultations are free of charge and operated by appointment in compliance with quarantine guidelines. For more details, contact Segok Health Center.
Segok Health Center also published a photo essay-style booklet and e-book titled ‘Enjoying Segok-dong Health Agit 200%.’ It contains practical information for residents’ health, including an introduction to the center and the locations and usage instructions of exercise equipment in 25 nearby parks.
Jeong Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, said, “With the opening of the health center, public medical accessibility has improved, and customized health management services for vulnerable groups have expanded. We will continue to strive for ‘a dignified Gangnam where everyone enjoys health without discrimination.’”
