Gyeonggi-do Corporation Reports Total Transactions of 120.2 Billion KRW Last Year, Up 500% YoY
'Baedal Teukgeup' Accumulates 100 Billion KRW in Transactions... Positive Response to Influencer-Linked Promotion
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The total transaction amount across all businesses of Gyeonggi Province's public corporation exceeded 120 billion KRW last year, driven by the rapid growth of the public delivery app.
Gyeonggi Province Public Corporation announced on the 14th that "the total cumulative transaction amount across all business sectors last year reached 120.2 billion KRW." This represents an increase of over 500% compared to 19.6 billion KRW in 2020.
According to analysis, the Gyeonggi Province public delivery app 'Baedal Teukgeup' played a major role by expanding its service area to 30 local governments within the province, achieving a cumulative transaction amount of 102.7 billion KRW.
Additionally, sales support projects for excellent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province contributed to revenue growth, recording approximately 10 billion KRW online, 1.2 billion KRW offline, 2.3 billion KRW through home shopping, and 200 million KRW in overseas exports.
The regional win-win cooperation store 'Siheung Kkum Sanghoe' also saw about a 50% increase from 2020 transaction amounts, reaching approximately 1.4 billion KRW, while social value products and fair trade items achieved results of about 760 million KRW.
Moreover, media commerce businesses such as live broadcasting and T-commerce recorded transaction amounts of approximately 1.5 billion KRW.
Lee Seok-hoon, CEO of Gyeonggi Province Public Corporation, said, "Despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the projects conducted for excellent SMEs seem to have achieved results," adding, "Thanks to the small business owners and consumers who used Baedal Teukgeup."

Meanwhile, in a survey conducted among companies that participated in Gyeonggi Province Public Corporation's support projects last year, 80% responded that they "intend to participate again in support projects." In particular, influencer-linked promotions, market development, home shopping, and flea markets received strong responses.
