Entering a Phase of Liquidity Reduction... 12 Promising Stocks Selected②
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] ResearchAlum analyzed that secondary battery equipment stocks in the domestic stock market have been neglected compared to secondary battery material stocks. Furthermore, artificial intelligence and semiconductors are still in the early stages of growth, and companies showing actual performance are expected to survive in this year's domestic stock market. Powerlogics, Mplus, Twim, MindsLab, Microcontaxol, and DI were identified as promising stocks.
Senior Researcher Donghyun Lee of ResearchAlum analyzed, "Powerlogics will be re-evaluated as the battery management business unit grows and the new business sector of waste battery recycling equipment business is being fully launched."
They have established a pilot line for producing recycled energy storage system (ESS) products. Battery packs collected from electric vehicles are disassembled to diagnose battery status, and good batteries suitable for recycling are sorted and reprocessed into battery trays for ESS. Powerlogics is expected to grow by taking the lead in the waste battery recycling market.
Regarding Mplus, the researcher said, "They recently signed a supply contract for prismatic battery process equipment with Northvolt in Sweden," and "are diversifying their product portfolio."
He explained, "SK Innovation's target production capacity for 2025 is 220GWh per year," adding, "an additional 180GWh expansion is needed compared to the current production capacity." Furthermore, he added, "Orders worth about 1 trillion KRW are expected by 2025," and "profit margins are expected to increase significantly starting this year."
In the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, Twim and MindsLab were classified as promising stocks. The researcher introduced Twim by saying, "They develop equipment integrating AI-based vision inspection and provide turnkey solutions from equipment design to manufacturing across various industries." He continued, "The number of clients expanded from 9 companies in 2017 to 42 companies," emphasizing, "They secured all vision software inspectors within the pilot line of companies in the eco-friendly energy sector."
MindsLab developed 'M1,' a virtual human integrating voice, vision, language, and cognitive intelligence, and supplied virtual bankers to Shinhan Bank. They provide AI counselors, AI security guards, AI bankers, and more tailored to various professions according to business characteristics. The researcher said, "Many human jobs are being replaced by AI humans," and "Since AI humans are custom-made for specific jobs, their scale is expected to grow."
In the semiconductor sector, Microcontaxol and DI are expected to grow. The researcher judged that Microcontaxol will benefit, saying, "With the launch of DDR5, burn-in test socket sales will surge until yield stabilizes."

He said, "Since early last year, DI has started supplying DDR5 burn-in tester equipment to Samsung Electronics," adding, "DDR5 has a larger chip size compared to DDR4, and voltage and speed differ, so upgrading existing equipment alone is insufficient." Furthermore, he emphasized, "There is a high possibility of new equipment investment," and "DDR5 testers are sold at prices 50% higher than existing equipment."
