Citigroup US: "Employees Refusing COVID-19 Vaccination Must Leave"
"Vaccination Completion as Employment Condition"
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The major U.S. financial firm Citigroup announced that it will dismiss employees who refuse to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to major U.S. media on the 8th, Citigroup notified that employees who have not been vaccinated by the 14th will be placed on unpaid leave until the end of this month and then dismissed. Citigroup had also announced last October that completing vaccination would be a condition of employment as part of mandatory measures.
This measure by Citigroup applies only to its U.S. offices. According to media reports within the U.S., over 90% of Citigroup employees have already been vaccinated, and the number of vaccinated employees is increasing as the deadline approaches.
