[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Agreement within the progressive camp regarding the method of unifying presidential candidates has been delayed again.
On the 7th, according to the labor sector, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) and five progressive parties including the Justice Party, the Progressive Party, the Green Party, the Labor Party, and the Socialist Revolutionary Workers' Party discussed the method of unifying presidential candidates at the KCTU office in Jung-gu, Seoul, but failed to reach an agreement.
The meeting was attended by Yang Kyung-soo, Chairman of the KCTU, former KCTU Chairman Han Sang-gyun, Labor Party leader Na Do-won, Green Party co-leader Kim Chan-hwi, Socialist Revolutionary Workers' Party leader Lee Jong-hoe, Justice Party leader Yeo Young-guk, and Progressive Party co-chair Kim Jae-yeon.
A KCTU official stated, "There were differences in opinions on detailed methods," and added, "We decided to discuss again over the weekend."

Earlier, Chairman Yang announced at a press conference on the 14th of last month that "after concluding discussions on the primary election method for unifying presidential candidates within the year, a unified candidate will be presented in January," but the schedule is being delayed.
