[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Democratic Party lawmaker So Byeong-cheol (Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye (Gap), Legislation and Judiciary Committee) announced on the 6th that he held the Democratic Party Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye (Gap) Regional Committee <2022 Presidential Election Victory Resolution Rally> at the Suncheonman International Wetland Center Conference Hall.
This victory resolution rally was planned with the purpose of creating the 4th Democratic government through an overwhelming presidential election victory by stirring up a passionate wind starting from Suncheon, which has the largest number of Democratic Party members in Jeonnam, with only 62 days left until the 20th presidential election.
The rally proceeded strictly following quarantine rules, starting with the opening remarks by So Byeong-cheol, chairman of the Suncheon (Gap) regional committee, video congratulatory messages from candidate Lee Jae-myung, party leader Song Young-gil and floor leader Yoon Ho-jung, on-site congratulatory speeches by Kim Seung-nam, standing election committee chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, and Hong Young-pyo, senior vice chairman of the National Vision and National Integration Committee, viewing of candidate Lee Jae-myung’s promotional video, and reading of the resolution.
About 290 people attended, including Kim Seung-nam, standing election committee chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, Hong Young-pyo, senior vice chairman of the National Vision and National Integration Committee, advisory group of the Democratic Party Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye (Gap) Regional Committee, provincial assembly members, Suncheon City Council members, heads of each eup, myeon, and dong councils, and core party members, making it a grand event within the scope of the Public Official Election Act.
Additionally, the rally announced a unique and distinctive team composition of the Suncheon (Gap) regional election committee.
Led by So Byeong-cheol, standing election committee chairman, the organization was formed with general co-chairmen, vice chairmen, advisors, council chairmen, and special advisory groups as a conventional election committee. Separate units such as ‘MZ Bank,’ composed of about 100 Suncheon youth including Jang Gyeong-won, senior youth vice chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, and Joo Woo-sung, president of Cheonggonghae, and ‘W-club,’ composed of female party members including Lee Ji-young, youth honorary member of the National Assembly, and Kim Seon-im, president of Isu Rotary Club, were also organized.
By organizing youth and women as core groups, the aim is to carry out comprehensive election campaigns and achieve synergy effects through close cooperation with the co-chairmen, special advisory groups, and standing election committee chairman.
Furthermore, the election campaign team ‘Channel Suncheon,’ which conducts election campaigns through SNS and cyberspace, was organized mainly by youth activist Lee Jin-young to ensure thorough non-face-to-face election campaigning.
Candidate Lee Jae-myung emphasized, “The lives of the people and the future of the country depend on our hands,” and through a video congratulatory message, asked for support, saying, “I will definitely create a ‘Korea where the economy revives’ and a ‘new and hopeful Korea where the total amount of opportunities increases and disparities are resolved.’ Please join me.”
Party leader Song Young-gil emphasized, “I ask Suncheon to take the lead so that we can drive an overwhelming victory in Jeonnam through the victory resolution rally,” and floor leader Yoon Ho-jung said, “If lawmaker So Byeong-cheol and the Suncheon party members join together, we will definitely win. The candidate chosen by Suncheon will become the president of Korea. Let’s unite tightly and move toward victory.”
Kim Seung-nam, standing election committee chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, who attended in person, stressed, “We must achieve social reform, peace, and balanced regional development,” and said, “If Suncheon takes the lead, we can definitely achieve victory.”
Hong Young-pyo, senior vice chairman of the National Vision and National Integration Committee, appealed for support through his congratulatory speech, saying, “It is thanks to the Democratic Party government and our party members working together that we overcame unprecedented crises and turned them into opportunities,” and “Please overwhelmingly support candidate Lee Jae-myung in Gwangju, Suncheon, and Jeonnam to create the 4th Democratic government.”
So Byeong-cheol, chairman of the Suncheon (Gap) regional committee, also emphasized, “In this era of great transformation with crises such as the COVID-19 crisis, aging population, polarization, and regional extinction, we need a president who can respond to new crises and a president who works well,” and said, “Candidate Lee Jae-myung can do that.”
He also passionately declared, “We must fulfill the historic mission of creating a ‘Democratic government that truly works for me and the future,’” and “Let’s make history by taking the lead in Suncheon.”
Meanwhile, the resolution of the presidential election victory rally was jointly read by five representatives: Shin Jeong-ran, female representative; Im Geon-woo, youth representative; Lee Joo-haeng, labor representative; Jang Han-na, multicultural representative; and Kim Young-tae, council chairman representative, adding to the fervent enthusiasm.
The resolution pledged victory in the 20th presidential election and included contents such as ▲carrying out dedicated election campaigns with relentless passion ▲focusing on presidential election victory with a one-team spirit ▲playing a leading role in correctly conveying the candidate’s policies and pledges ▲communicating with the public with humility, delivering the voice of the people, and actively responding to fake news, thereby resolving to achieve ‘presidential election victory’ and ‘creation of the 4th Democratic government.’
