Carrot Sonbo, 70% Reduction in Accident Rate with Safe Driving Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Carrot General Insurance announced on the 6th that 54% of participants in the safe driving reward program 'Per Mile Challenge' have successfully driven safely and receive a 10,000 KRW fuel voucher every month.
The Per Mile Challenge is a program designated as an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission in November 2020. It uses T map and Carrot Plug to provide fuel gift certificates to customers who meet safe driving conditions each month.
Analysis of participant data over the past year showed that the average monthly driving distance of all participants was 638.1 km, with an annual driving distance of about 7,700 km. Additionally, 53.9% of participants received fuel vouchers every month through safe driving.
While the accident rate for all domestic automobile insurance customers was about 15.5% in 2020, the accident rate for customers who successfully completed the Per Mile Challenge mission was around 5%, showing approximately a 70% reduction in accident rate.

A Carrot official said, "We were able to confirm the positive effects of inducing safe driving and reducing accident rates," and added, "We will introduce various new services that can maximize the induction of safe driving and reduction of accident rates by utilizing Carrot's unique technology."
