Gokseong-gun Offers Up to 22.49 Million KRW for Early Retirement of Old Agricultural Machinery
Tractors up to 22.49 million KRW, Combines up to 13.10 million KRW available
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is accepting applications for early retirement subsidies for old agricultural machinery until the end of February.
The early retirement subsidy is primarily available for tractors and combines registered in the Nonghyup 'Agricultural Diesel Tax-Free Fuel Management System'.
Only models produced on or before December 31, 2012, and owned for more than six months are eligible for the subsidy.
However, there are conditions under which unregistered agricultural machinery can also receive the subsidy.
If the machinery has a history of receiving tax-free fuel and is in normal working condition, an application for the subsidy can be made.
The specifications and production year of the agricultural machinery must be verified through a designated scrapping facility.
The designated agricultural machinery scrapping facilities in Gokseong-gun are Daedong Asia Gokseong Branch and Kubota Muchang Comprehensive Agricultural Machinery Center, two locations.
The subsidy amount varies depending on the model and condition of the machinery.
For tractors, subsidies range from 1 million KRW to a maximum of 22.49 million KRW depending on horsepower and manufacturing year.
Combines are divided into sack-type and product-type, with subsidies ranging from 1.5 million KRW to a maximum of 13.1 million KRW.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, "The early retirement subsidy project for old agricultural machinery is an eco-friendly initiative aimed at reducing fine dust emissions, preserving air quality, and practicing carbon neutrality. We encourage farmers owning old agricultural machinery to actively participate."
Meanwhile, the '2022 Early Retirement Subsidy Project for Old Agricultural Machinery (Tractors, Combines)' is promoted as part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' fine dust reduction measures. Article 3 of the Special Act on the Reduction and Management of Fine Dust stipulates that "the state and local governments must establish and implement necessary policies to protect the health and lives of citizens from fine dust."
