CEO Song said, “Last year was a meaningful year in which we succeeded in a performance turnaround despite the overall difficulties in the cable industry, such as net subscriber increase, stable growth of budget phone (MVNO) and rental businesses, and strengthening differentiated competitiveness of regional channels. In particular, it was a significant year contributing to regional economic revitalization through media commerce.”
He added, “This year is the time to accelerate qualitative growth along with external growth,” emphasizing repeatedly the qualitative improvement of subscribers and the creation of differentiated experiences and value based on customer needs. Key initiatives include ▲expanding the subscriber base for broadcasting and telecommunications ▲strengthening competitiveness of regional channels ▲and fostering future growth businesses.
During the ceremony, there was also a session to share strategic directions by organization through a discussion with the management team. Key points mentioned included expanding cable TV subscribers and increasing synergy between businesses. Innovation of customer experience through non-face-to-face channels, fostering media commerce business, and expanding production of regionally based content were also shared as key initiatives.
