Two Omicron Infections Confirmed in Pohang Among Overseas Arrivals and Contacts of Confirmed Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Two additional cases of COVID-19 Omicron variant infections have been confirmed in Pohang, Gyeongbuk.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 31st, health authorities confirmed on the 30th that Mr. A was infected with the Omicron variant. Mr. A entered from the United Kingdom on the 25th, was tested, and was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 27th.
He was later confirmed as an Omicron variant case after additional testing.
Separately, health authorities confirmed on the 31st that COVID-19 positive Mr. B was infected with the Omicron variant. Mr. B was diagnosed with COVID-19 the previous day through a company-wide screening test. Epidemiological investigation revealed that Mr. B had contact with an Omicron confirmed case in the Daegu area.
