Improving Quality of Life... Busan City Announces 'Big Data Analysis Project' for Smart Administration
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City has completed the ‘Big Data Analysis Project,’ which conducts sector-specific analyses in areas such as economy, libraries, daily life, culture, and tourism, and will implement data-driven smart administration starting next year.
The ‘Big Data Analysis Project,’ initiated in June, was carried out in various sectors including ▲analysis for regional economic revitalization and youth employment ▲library usage analysis ▲analysis of changes in citizens' daily lives due to COVID-19 ▲analysis of youth cultural consumption patterns ▲big data analysis of Dong-gu Ibaguegil tourism.
The city held a completion report meeting at City Hall on the 30th.
Reviewing the policy recommendations presented based on the analysis results at the report meeting, ▲the ‘analysis for regional economic revitalization and youth employment’ examined the economic status, discovery of potential growth companies, open shared service simulations, and causes of youth outflow.
The analysis proposed strategies to solve economic and youth issues, such as establishing a high-growth company ecosystem research institute and developing open services for youth entrepreneurship and housing.
▲The ‘library usage analysis’ analyzed personal book recommendations, library acquisition recommendations, and books with rapidly increasing loans.
Based on the analysis, a visualization interface will be developed for easy use by citizens and field officers and will be serviced on the big data portal.
▲The ‘analysis of changes in citizens' daily lives due to COVID-19’ conducted a convergent analysis of mobile data from telecom companies, card consumption data, and internal surveys to predict lifestyle changes such as the expansion of non-face-to-face civil service tasks and promotion of non-face-to-face transaction education for the elderly, with corresponding policies proposed.
▲The ‘analysis of youth cultural consumption patterns’ analyzed the regions of youth cultural activities and consumption characteristics to identify youth cultural station areas and proposed related support policies such as supporting youth artists' creative activities and operating alternative art spaces.
▲The ‘big data analysis of Dong-gu Ibaguegil tourism’ comprehensively analyzed sales in six commercial districts of Dong-gu’s Ibaguegil, changes in floating population and density, and consumption characteristics of visitors, proposing policies such as creating rest areas, establishing themed streets, and expanding accessibility strategies.
The city plans to implement related policies next year reflecting the proposed policy recommendations.
Next year, the scope of big data utilization will be expanded to include analyses of welfare, safety, and festivals.
