Eight Police Superintendents, the 'Flower of the Police,' Produced in Honam and Jeju Regions

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Eight individuals have been promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent, known as the "flower of the police," in the Honam and Jeju regions.
According to related industry sources on the 31st, two officers from the Gwangju Police Agency, Kim Yong-gwan, Chief of the Inspection, Audit, and Human Rights Division, and Park Woong, Chief of Investigation Division 2, were promoted.
Chief Kim graduated from the 5th class of the Korean National Police University and has served as Head of the Criminal Division at the Gwangju Western Police Station and Chief of the Inspection Division at the Gwangju Police Agency. Chief Park is a graduate of the 44th class of the Executive Candidate Course and has held positions such as Head of the Criminal Division at the Gwangju Northern Police Station and Chief of Investigation Division 1 at the Gwangju Police Agency.
At the Jeonnam Police Agency, Heo Yang-seon, Chief of the Public Relations Division, and Joo Hyun-sik, Chief of the Inspection, Audit, and Human Rights Division, were selected.
Chief Heo started as a general recruitment officer from the 47th class and has served as Head of the Women and Juvenile Division at Yeosu and Suncheon Police Stations and Chief of the Traffic Investigation Division at the Jeonnam Police Agency. Chief Joo, a graduate of the 8th class of the Korean National Police University, has held positions such as Head of the Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit and Chief of Investigation Division 2 at the Jeonnam Police Agency.
At the Jeonbuk Police Agency, Park Sam-seo, Chief of the Intelligence, Security, and Foreign Affairs Division; Lee Seok-hyun, Chief of the Information Situation Division; and Jung Deok-gyo, Chief of the Violent Crimes Division, were included.
Chief Park, a graduate of the 46th Executive Candidate Course, is from Iksan and entered the police after graduating from Namseong High School and Jeonbuk National University’s Department of Law. He has served as Chief of Information Division 4 and Chief of the Public Relations Division at the Jeonbuk Police Agency.
Chief Lee, a graduate of the 9th class of the Korean National Police University, is from Jeonju and has held positions such as Head of the Criminal Division at Deokjin Police Station, Chief of the Traffic Division, Chief of the Traffic Safety Division, and Chief of Information Division 3 at the Jeonbuk Police Agency.
Chief Jung entered the police in 1996 as a graduate of the 12th class of the Korean National Police University and has served as Head of the Criminal Division at Wansan Police Station in 2014, Chief of Investigation Division 2, Head of the Cyber Investigation Unit, and Head of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the Jeonbuk Police Agency.
At the Jeju Police Agency, Gu Seul-hwan, Chief of the Public Relations Division, has been nominated for appointment.
Chief Gu is from Seocheon, Chungnam, and entered the police as a detective in the Investigation Division of the Western Police Station of the Busan Police Agency after graduating from the 45th Executive Candidate Course. He has since served as Head of the Special Task Force, Chief of the Public Order Division, Inspection Officer at Jeju Eastern Police Station, Head of the Community Safety Division at the Western Police Station, and Chief of the Public Relations Division at the Jeju Police Agency.
The National Police Agency plans to complete personnel transfers at the Chief Superintendent level by early next month.

The rank of Chief Superintendent is the next rank after Commissioner General, Senior Commissioner, Commissioner, and Superintendent General, corresponding to the position of police station chiefs and division chiefs at the headquarters and provincial police agencies.
