[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Kim Du-kwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, saying, "He is recklessly making statements that seem like he has given up on the presidential election himself and is shooting himself in the foot."
On the 30th, Kim posted a message titled "Does Candidate Yoon Think Our People Are Ridiculous?" on his Facebook, expressing these views.
He said, "A broken tram is veering off the rails and falling off a cliff," and criticized, "Candidate Yoon labeled Lee Jae-myung, who was legally nominated by a legitimate party, as a 'definitive serious criminal' without any basis, and yesterday he attacked him with the vulgar term 'ridiculous,' which should not be uttered."
He continued, "The statement about a definitive serious criminal is a clear false statement in violation of election law and merely a confession that he does not understand the basic principles of a democratic republic."
Earlier, at the launch ceremony of the Gyeongbuk election countermeasures committee, Candidate Yoon targeted Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, saying, "Do we really have to debate with such a person in front of the people? It's truly ridiculous," and criticized the current administration and Candidate Lee as "a sham government that is both incompetent and illegal."
In response, Kim raised his voice, saying, "It seems he still thinks he is a special prosecutor who fabricates crimes that do not exist and arrests people on one charge if another does not work," and "I have seen many ignorant and incompetent candidates make all sorts of excuses to avoid debates, but this is the first time I have seen someone slander an opponent as a definitive serious criminal and then retaliate with abusive attacks."
He added, "This is an arrogant attitude that looks down on the entire public who demand the right to know." He also pointed out, "There is no respect for opponents or presidential candidate dignity anywhere, and Candidate Yoon, who only harbors the hostility of a special prosecutor trying to imprison even innocent people, is completely unqualified."

Finally, Kim concluded, "Stop embarrassing the country and the opposition party and step down yourself.
