Gwangju Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center Approved as CPR Training Institution
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Nambu Fire Station (Chief Lee Jeong-ja) announced on the 30th that the Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center located in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, has been designated as a general CPR education institution by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
A CPR education institution is designated and reviewed by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and refers to an educational institution certified for the personnel, facilities, equipment, and capabilities necessary to conduct CPR training.
The training course is tailored and practice-oriented for 180 minutes, covering adult and pediatric CPR, use of automated external defibrillators, airway obstruction due to foreign objects, and other emergency situations. Anyone aged 10 or older can register for free through the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation website. Additionally, upon completion of the 3-hour advanced course, a certificate is issued by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Opened on the 24th of last month, the Nam-gu 119 Safety Education Center is the first CPR education institution among fire stations in Gwangju and Jeonnam. Three professional instructors have conducted CPR training for 51 people over 5 sessions targeting the general public so far.

The education center’s training officer stated, “With the certification as an educational institution, we will operate CPR training more efficiently and systematically and do our best to save precious lives.”
