40s Arrested for Months-Long Stalking of Mother and Daughter... Arrest Warrant Requested
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 40s who stalked a mother and daughter for several months by contacting them and visiting their home was arrested by the police.
According to the police on the 30th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his 40s, Mr. A, on charges of trespassing and violating the Stalking Punishment Act, and applied for an arrest warrant the day before.
Mr. A is accused of stalking by visiting the victim's home and ringing the doorbell at the shared entrance around 12:15 a.m. the previous day. He was also under police investigation earlier this year in September for threatening the mother and daughter. It is known that Mr. A contacted them several times afterward to inquire about their whereabouts.
The police had issued personal protection measures for the mother and daughter but lifted the protection in early last month after Mr. A ceased contact.

Mr. A's pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing) was held this morning at the Seoul Northern District Court.
